The museum is now closed until mid June but we welcome any inquiries through our email link. Be watching for news about our exciting new exhibit which will be unveiled in June.
Great new programs are being scheduled for 2010, including James Nelson, author of George Washington's Secret Navy among other novels.
We appreciate all the visitors to the museum and hope that while in the area visitors picked up a copy of Discover Maine which had a feature article about our coveted Waldoboro rugs.
Step back in time to visit a truly unique collection of items of interest, not only to Waldoboro, but to all who want a glimpse of life "back in the day".
On site are three distinct buildings.
...as well as the one room schoolhouse. There is also a Town Pound, built in 1819, and used as the first place to keep stray horses and sheep.
The Waldoborough Historical Society mourns the loss of its long time member Randall Gross. Randy was dedicated to preserving as much information as possible not only about Waldoboro history but also about the genealogical roots of anyone with connections with Waldoboro. His final contribution to this effort was to compile write and have published a two volume set Cemeteries of Waldoboro Maine which was a massive undertaking. He will truly be missed.
